Burundi Gaterama (Coffee Central Roasting Co.)

What better place to grow coffee. Burundi's mountainous terrain with a tropical climate ensures great coffee every year.

Cassien Nibaruta, is a trained engineer. He designed, built, and implemented the Gaterama Washing Station in 2016. Located in the province of Gitega, at an altitude of 1800m, and named after the mountain it's on.

The washing station receives fresh groundwater from a well. And cleaned after use by a filtration system. Draining into the nearby Mubarazi River.

Known for their distinct acidity and full body. They are complex coffees with a strong character.

Gaterama Flavour Profile

Grapefruit, orange, redcurrant, and pineapple are all noticeable in Gaterama's cup notes.

A Bourbon variety coffee, known for its high quality, medium yield, and sweet taste.

Washed coffee' refers to beans processed by removing fruit layers. Drying produces better-tasting coffee but requires a lot of skill and water.

Using the washed process Latin America and parts of East Africa coffee is both bright and clean.

Guatemala - Antigua Regional (Rounton Coffee Roasters)

Antigua produces some of Guatemala's best coffee in both quality and quantity.

With abundant rain and sunshine, and consistent temperatures. It is the ideal condition for growing coffee. In a valley of three volcanoes, over 1,500 meters above sea level.

Following best practices, the farmers follow intensive inspections and quality controls.

Antigua Regional Flavour Profile

A medium roast with notes of fig, milk chocolate, and juicy green apple.

Accompanied by its full-bodied flavour Antigua coffee has a very rich, almost velvety texture.

The mixed bean variety gives roasters the freedom to experiment. And the ability to create a perfect cup of coffee according to taste.

Meet the Roasters

Coffee Central Roasting Co.

Founded in 2003, Coffee Central Roasting Co. was a wholesaler of coffee and equipment in the East Midlands.

With 10 years under his belt, Gavin purchased a twin 15-kilo drum roaster. Enabling him to start roasting in-house and produce only high-quality coffee. Building a team of passionate and dedicated coffee specialists. Who are all committed to providing the very best product and service in the UK.

Coffee Central's ethos is to make coffee available to everyone. Coffee shops of all sizes can order it in bulk, or order for consumption at home from their website.

Coffee Central's Ethical Approach

They aim to coax the very best features out of the coffee. Whilst maintaining their unique characteristics.

Working with the green importers in the UK and the world. Ensuring they source from sustainable and profitable farms for their employees and farmers.

Transparency throughout the supply chain is key to their long-term relationships with producers.

Rounton Coffee Roasters

Rounton Roasters began in an old granary that they converted into a roastery in East Rounton.

Attending farmers' markets and scribbling down roast profiles by hand. They learned so much about coffee, business, and relationships.

The most important thing those initial years taught the team. They found a community that cares about sustainability, transparency, and delicious coffee. Working with the most brilliant minds and the world's top producers. Leading to a multi-award-winning roastery.

It's a dynamic team passionate about coffee, people, and making a positive impact on the world.

Rounton's Ethical Approach

Sourcing their coffee from award-winning farms that value sustainable farming practices. Great coffee can be grown for generations to come. Working with nature rather than against it.

By paying a premium for the coffee, they can return more cash to the people who make it.

They have carbon-neutral coffee bags. With home-recyclable bags, you can enjoy coffee without worrying about waste.

During local wholesale delivery, they use reusable coffee tubs as "milk rounds." Using this initiative, thousands of coffee bags never need to go to landfills.
