Horsebox Coffee Co. was founded by Emily Stewart in 2015. After years immersed in speciality coffee in London, and travelling to coffee origin, the dream of establishing her own roastery was on the horizon.
Today Horsebox Coffee Co. is a small passionate team brought together by a love of coffee and the opportunity to support and work within the wider coffee community.
Sustainability filters through everything they do, from sourcing to serving. Not just minimising their impact but making a positive change.
How it All Began
The horsebox is a vintage Rice model built in 1976 by Emily's mum. She bought it from a Newbury dealer soon after.
For two decades they went to and from local shows and events with Joker, Solomon and Brightstar. They had a lot of great memories during that time.
Emily spent her career in London helping to set up a café chain, then pursuing a passion for speciality coffee as a barista and trainer.
In 2008, she moved back to Oxfordshire to bring up the family mobile speciality coffee shop. This seemed like the ideal way to put their beloved horsebox to good use. I set to with the designs.
In 2015, with the support of family and friends, Horsebox Coffee Co was born!

There are three things that are super important to Horsebox Coffee -- the people, the planet, and the community.
They believe that the perfect cup of coffee is a result of teamwork, partnerships, and passion.
They work with trusted importers who hold long-term relationships and work closely with the farmers at origin to ensure flavour, sustainability, and an honest and transparent supply chain.
Horsebox builds build direct relationships with coffee growers whenever they can. They are continually exploring and always share, so everyone can enjoy the most delicious, fair and sustainable cup.
